About Travel to Malacca
By road its 38.9 km from Pulau Sebang/Tampin Railway Station to Malacca city centre. The easiest, and most expensive, way to do this journey is to take a taxi. Local taxi services which wait at the train station are relatively expensive and generally they will not take passengers on this 35 minute journey for less than 70 MYR. If there are other passengers you can share the cost with then the journey by taxi becomes much better value for money. Uber or Grab taxi services are also a lot cheaper.

You can, however, also take a local bus from Tampin to Malacca. Rather than walk all the way to Tampin Bus Station to board a bus to Malacca we recommend that you walk the much shorter distance to the bus stop on the main road in front of the car park of the Mydin Pulau Sebang Hypermarket. The bus fare in 5 MYR per person and the journey takes between 1 hour 30 minutes and 2 hours depending upon how many detours the driver makes on route. The point of arrival in Malacca is Melaka Sentral Bus Station, which is inconveniently located 4.1 km from the historic centre of the city. Local bus number 17 travels from the bus station to the centre of Melaka, however, this local bus service tends to be unreliable and most leisure travellers arriving by bus choose to take a taxi into the city centre, which costs around 15 MYR and is a lot quicker.
