About Pulau Sebang/Tampin Railway Station

Pulau Sebang/Tampin Railway Station was established in 1905 as a stop on the main West Coast Railway line and as a connection point to a railway line running to Melaka. The Tampin to Melaka Railway line was dismantled by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second World War with the tracks being taken for use in the construction of the Thailand-Burma Railwa Line. The railway line to Melaka was never rebuilt and Pulau Sebang/Tampin Railway Station suffered from a dearth of passengers as a consequence with only very limited train services passing through on route to Gemas and south to Johor Bahru. The station was rebuilt in 2005 and became more busy thereafter because of the newly constructed Seremban Line which is a frequent Kommuter service connecting the Batu Caves with Pulau Sebang/Tampin Railway Station via Central Kuala Lumpur. Most of the passengers who pass through Pulau Sebang/Tampin Railway Station are passengers on this Kommuter Service with only 4 long distance ETS services passing through the station each day.
