The journey takes only 5 minutes and tickets cost 5 MYR one-way. Ticket gates open 30 minutes before each departure and close 10 minutes before the train departs. The big advantage of using the train to travel from Johor Bahru to Singapore is that there is an immigration office after you go through the ticket barrier and you get to avoid the lengthy queues at the immigration office on the Causeway linking Johor Bahru to Singapore. The disadvantage of travelling by train as opposed to taxi or bus is that Woodlands Railway Station is 1.6 km from the nearest station on Singapore’s metro system, Marsiling Undeground Station.
